Our Story

Made in the USA

We began by examining our own closets. There were hangers and drawers filled with clothing items. Some we wore often, some haven’t been worn in years. We read all the labels to see what country the item was made in, and of what materials. We looked at the messages written on the tags from the brands, and the washing instructions as well. We found many countries of origin; China, Indonesia, Honduras, Peru, Pakistan, etc. The one label that wasn’t ever found was Made in the USA, our own country. This led us to our first core value, Domestic manufacturing and production.

Sustainable Materials & Processes

Looking at the materials, it was mostly 100% cotton, some 50/50 blends of Polyster and Cotton, some Rayon or Nylon, we noticed only one shirt was made from Organic Cotton. After researching the way fiber was used in the manufacturing of clothing, it was brought back to the cotton farm. So we broke that process down; soil, seed, watering, pest and insect control, harvesting and beyond. We found our second core value, Sustainable materials.

Social Purpose

Awesome, we’re going to make eco-friendly, American made clothing. We’re going to grow the awareness and demand for organic cotton and we’ll help create jobs in our country! Woo Hoo! But wait, can we do even more? What if we were to used the profits and our brand to help people? How about partnering with organizations and charities to support causes through True Herban Clothing and positively impacting our society! Yes! We had our third core principle; we’ll be a brand with a Social Purpose!

We now felt we had a good base of how to create a better t-shirt. We would use sustainable materials that was grown and manufactured in the U.S.A, and for each purchase, we’ll help someone in need.

Transparency

It wasn’t enough to just say something we’re Organic or Made in the U.S.A or that we fed a hungry person with each purchase. We want to show you how your purchase is making an impact on the environment, economy and society.

Transparency is a top priority for True Herban Clothing. We will expose our entire operation to our customers so they can become empowered and informed about how their purchase is making an impact. Using video, blogs, pictures, and tracking technology we can show you how the organic cottonseed is grown, harvested, manufactured, printed and shipped. We will provide data and statistics on the difference this is making compared to conventional brands, and elevate the consciousness of peoples purchasing decisions. We’ll even show you ways to responsibly care for and dispose of your clothes.

By empowering you to make more informed decisions, we can inspire society to demand their products and services to have positive impacts on the Environment, Economy and Society.
